Theme for the Month | Alla Prima Portraits and Painting the Eye

We will practice Alla Prima painting, painting a portrait in one session. We learn how to simplify the forms of the head, how to compress values and skillfully mix skin tones. Dominique will break down the Alla Prima process into clear steps.  We will focus on the 4 main aspects of a portrait: Proportion, Value, Color, and Edge. We will use a limited palette that is designed to help you understand color, theory and color relationships.

In addition, each month we will go into depth on one facial feature. 
This month we will look at the form and structure of the eye.
