Theme for the Month | Portrait Painting and Painting the Mouth

This month we paint 2 paintings. We will learn how to simplify the forms of the head and skillfully mix skin tones. Dominique will provide demos and break down the process of painting into clear and consecutive steps. Our process focuses on the 4 main aspects of a portrait: Proportion, Value, Color, and Edge. We will use a limited palette that is designed to help you understand color theory and color relationships.

In addition, we will go into depth on one facial feature. This month we will look at the form and structure of the Mouth. The painting process we use is bound to give you many insights and inspiration for years to come.
